Director Dovile Gasiunaite

Born in 1972, she studied film directing at the Vilnius Music Academy and at the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She attended Ateliers d'Angers, Master Classes led by Jeanne Moreau, directed towards young European filmmakers. Since 2001, she worked as a Casting Director and an Assistant Director in Lithuanian film productions.

Dovile Gasiunaite's first feature film, NARCISSUS (Film 2012), premiered in Vilnius, Lithuania on May 10th, 2012. It was nominated for three 2012 Silver Crane Awards (Lithuanian Film Academy Awards) for Best Feature Film, Best Music, and Best Supporting Actress. NARCISSUS received Audience Choice Award at Kaunas International Film Festival, 2012. In October 2013, NARCISSUS (Dovile Gasiunaite) received Best Original Feature Screenplay Award at Southampton International Film Festival, UK.
